Are you looking for an easy, quick knitting project that is also great for beginners? Making a soap sack is a satisfying one day knit. They make great gifts, you can also make a few and donate them to charity. Follow along to see how I make this easy quick knit soap sack. The best part is they only require the knit stitch! You could also use them as a sunglasses holder or small pouch, just adjust the length.

Easy Quick Knit Soap Sack Materials
Cotton Yarn (100% cotton or 50/50 blend)
Knitting Needles size 7 (I used circular, but straight will work too)
Double pointed needles, size 7 (for I cord loop)
Scissors

Soap Sack Instructions
Cast on 23 stitches
Row 1: Slip first stitch, knit until last 2 stitches, pass yarn in front, slip last 2 stitches.
Row 2: Knit.
Repeat row one and two until 7 inches in length.
Finish on a Row 2. Bind off until last 3 stitches.
Transfer last 3 stitches to double pointed needle, using double pointed needles, create 3 inch long I-cord. Bind off last 3 stitches, leaving a long amount of yarn to sew the seam.
Fold cast on edge to meet cast off edge, using I-cord yarn and embroidery needled, sew seams together. Weave in any left over yarn and trim.
And you’re done! I hope you enjoyed this easy, quick knit soap sack. You can make a few in one day. A lot of homeless shelters accept them as a donation if you would like to give them away! Or you can give them as gifts. It is a great reusable present. Just make sure you use yarn with cotton. The best part about knitting is that you can customize your project, you aren’t limited by a pattern… Adjust the length and make them into a glasses holder or sunglasses pouch. It’s up to you!
